Nevertheless, we hang out at the usual place - McDonald's @ Jurong Spring Community Club. =) CHEERS! I manage to stay awake throughout the night. This is my second accomplishment for not sleeping on a night. Revision and poker cards rule. SweeLeng does not play poker cards in the midnight. She is a weirdo, she hides her smiles. However, she is active early in the morning 6 o'clock. We play poker cards early in the morning. Ahahaha, JACKASS game is tensive. After the breakfast, we went off at 9am plus. Ha ha, 11pm - 9am at one particular venue.

I met primary schoolmate, Miss Kek Poh Khee there. She does not fit in dark green. Yes, we have been pretending that we are strangers since 7549827495 years ago.

I attended my first session of StudyChamp yesterday! I am thick-skinned to join myself. Ha ha, Ms Menon allows.

I did MINDMAP. Ha, although I dislike mindmap, but I realize mindmap helps when that mister xoxo drew the topic- Geography. So, I thought, this is a BEST way to REMEMBER FACTORS. It comes handy when one revises Social Studies too.

The "Discover Me" workshop on ytd was definitely memorable. It is MORE USEFUL than Thumbs Up!/Trybe. 4C and 4D had Coach Sabrina and Coach Kristian. Wow, that Coach Kristian was just an extra? What was with his slang when he talked? =/

Coach Sabrina claimed she is a D. Ha ha ha, the talk from her was FUN FUN FUN. I really understood the feeling of ROFLMAO. Oh, I am a C/S. Wakaka.

POA night class ytd was a flop. Mdm Gee just stormed out. The damn funny part is, she raged on Thu's evening and was absent from school today. Amazing eh? Btw, she claimed she had sore throat before she started the lessons.

I had my dinner at KFC ytd. Alright, serve Syaifullah's right for causing me to miss my bus. Ha ha ha, he got his retribution from Glenda and Farah from 4B. Farah Iz and me were LOL.

School was boring today. My EL paper 2, I need to plan my duration properly for answering questions and doing summary. I had no confidence in Sci(Phy) test. AWWWWW, foolish MT composition, I had no inspiration to write today.

Headed home straight after school. Snoooozzzzzzzzee till 3pm plus. AWWWWW, it's okay to postpone the night study session to tomorrow.

Firstly, to be frank, my mother forbids me to go all the way to Changi. Which she didn't tell me WHY.

Secondly, I am down with flu. If we went today, to IMM too, my illness will worsen.

Singapore Flyer takes first spin

SINGAPORE: Touted to be one of Asia's most visible iconic attractions, the S$240 million Singapore Flyer took to the skies for the first time Monday night.

United Overseas Bank was among the 38 business partners who tossed the traditional Lunar New Year dish "yu sheng" for prosperity and good luck inside the air-conditioned capsule of the Singapore Flyer.

The guests rode on the observation wheel for about an hour, or two rotations.

The 165-metre Singapore Flyer, which was built in just over two years, is said to be a key landmark at Marina Bay.

The 700 visitors inside the 28 capsules got to enjoy a bird's eye view of Singapore and neighbouring Malaysia and Indonesia.

Gan Ai Im, UOB's head of cards and payment products, said: "It's actually a very slow ride. I understand it takes about 34 minutes in total to make a full revolution. That's really nice, even people who are afraid of heights feel very comfortable. You almost feel like you are stationary."

Singtel's CEO Allen Lew also said: "I've been seeing this from the expressway for a while. I've been wondering what it's like… I really didn't come with very much expectation, but it's been quite surprising for me. And I definitely would come back with my family and overseas visitors."

More corporate clients will get to take a ride on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Each company paid almost S$9,000 to book an entire capsule, which can hold up to 28 people.

Couples can also spend their Valentine's Day evening on the observation wheel, complete with champagne, chocolates and flowers.

The Flyer will open on 1 March. Different types of tickets are available, starting from S$29.50.

Bookings are off to a flying start as well, with about half a million tickets sold over the past months.

Patsy Ong, sales & marketing agent of Singapore Flyer, said: "We've got good support from our travel agents, from corporate clients. And the public are really excited about it. It's been really encouraging, but as a policy, we always keep 20 per cent of our tickets for walk-ins. Key enquires received so far are for National Day, for F1 packages and for Christmas.

The Singapore Flyer is expected to attract 2.5 million visitors in the first year, and contribute S$100 million in tourism receipt.

The observation wheel forms part of a string of attractions at Marina Bay, including the integrated resort and the Gardens by the Bay.

No amount of fluff can hide the fact that buying wool supports a surprisingly cruel and bloody industry, in which sheep suffer while they're alive and die a horrifying death.

PETA's investigations of the wool industry in Australia—where much of the world's wool is produced-have exposed horrific cruelty to animals. We have found helpless lambs who had flesh deliberately cut off their rumps—without anything at all to numb the pain. Despite the wool industry's ads depicting cuddly sheep, this barbaric practice—called mulesing—is routine.

It's not only cruel, it's pointless too. Mulesing is intended to stop maggots from infesting the sheep's wrinkled skin, yet there are readily available and humane alternatives to this crude and painful practice. Neither the Australian government nor industry leaders care to stop mulesing or other cruel abuses inflicted on sheep.
PETA's unique international campaign to protect these abused lambs and sheep is gaining ground. Dozens of leading designers and retailers—including Marc Bouwer, Stella McCartney, Abercrombie & Fitch, H&M, and Limited Brands—have joined our campaign. All have pledged not to use or sell mulesed Australian wool until this cruel practice is stopped.
It gets worse! When sheep stop producing high volumes of wool, they are often shipped to Middle Eastern slaughterhouses. They are sent on long ocean voyages in all weather extremes in often disease-ridden boats.

Lambs born on the ships can be trampled and killed. Some are exposed to the elements, and unable to escape their own waste, many sheep become sick or injured or die. Still others starve to death, as they do not recognize the feed or reach the troughs.

When they finally arrive at the slaughterhouse, sheep are dragged, thrown, and kicked before having their throats slit. At one slaughterhouse in Amman, Jordan, the video documentation our investigators gathered contained stomach-churning footage. I was cranky the previous day. I had no idea why was I behaving this way. I cut my hair due to that. It was fugly in the present.

Ate at Fisherman's Wharf and headed to DXO with Mink, Christelle and Danny. bravo experience for me. Mink and I managed to slip in. Wahahaha. Supposed to check our ICs, but we insisted we forgot to bring in a very attitude way. And the guy bo bian, after considering, he just "close one eye" for us. Lol~ I had my first beer/wine/liquor there. Vodka and whisky. =D They came in the form of "tower". Danny ordered vodka tower and Mink ordered whisky tower. Though I felt "yucks" during the first sip of vodka, but after a few sips more it turned out to be alright, I suppose? I just drank one glass, half vodka and half whisky. The people there watched soccer and performances by a band. Lol, the singer lost his high-pitch voice and forgot lyrics. Ate a bit of potato wedges... sat there chitchat and watched soccer... red VS white, ManU VS ____ ? Left there at 1.20am... Cos Danny really um....... drunk? Couldn't stop laughing when he came off from the taxi. We witnessed the way he fell from the cab... Then we laughed and laughed...? Lol, they chased after him becos of the cab... So we got "longbang" home.

Slept over at Mink and Christelle's place. Mink was also a bit drunk I thought? Lol... Cos she drank like 3 glasses?

Captain’s Ball was fine.

Spent the other hours of GG session at Training Room,
Folding the mandarin orange thingy.
The sec1s were so quite in my patrol. -_-‘’’

After GG, dinner at hawker centre.
After that, we headed to Mcdonalds’ and chatted.
My longest record in my lifetime:
8pm plus till almost 10:30pm.

Just finished watching “The Golden Path” on channel 8~ Woooo, I saw the JVS PSL Jacob sia. He act as extra, lol. The patron of the “Happy Restaurant”. I rmb New mentioned to me before he’s in “80’s rewind” too. Haha, the bespectacled boy so nerdy~ WTH, How can that Cheng-sao betray her own hubby? TSK TSK. That “Snake” is really PERVERT. His laughter is so… MAD! Ahaha, too much exaggerating scene liaoz. For example,

1)The kidnap. The son found a small piece of sharp object to cut the string.
2)When Chen Li Ping *I dunno her drama name* was going to get hacked, she slipped on plastics.
3)The final time Snake was going to hack her, Li Nanxing appeared.

Indian man marries dog to beat 'curse'

CHENNAI, India (AFP) - An Indian farmer has married his dog in a bid to overcome what he believes is a curse caused by him having stoned to death two mating dogs in his rice field, press reports said.

The 34-year-old farmer, identified as Selvakumar from Sivaganga district in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, fell on bad fortune 15 years ago after killing the dogs and hanging their carcasses from a tree.

A few days later, his hearing and speech were impaired and he was unable to walk.

Doctors were clueless, but an astrologer finally told him he was cursed by the spirits of the dogs he had killed. He could undo the curse only if he married a dog and live with it, the soothsayer said.

After a long search for a 'suitable bride', Selvakumar managed to get a four-year-old mongrel bitch from a friend and had a fully-fledged Hindu wedding in front of villagers and elders on Sunday, eyewitnesses said.

The canine bride, named Selvi, was adorned in a sari and flowers and brought to the temple by village women. A Hindu priest conducted the ceremony.

The reports, however, said Selvi the dog attempted to make a run for it -- apparently due to the large crowds -- but was eventually tracked down and returned to her new 'husband'.

"The dog is only for lifting the curse and after that, he plans to get a real bride," a friend of the groom said.

Man admits to sex with bike
Edinburgh, Scotland October 28, 2007 12:01:13 AM IST

A man who admitted having sex with a bicycle in a Scottish hotel has been placed on the sex offenders' register for breach of the peace.

Robert Stewart admitted to the crime Friday in Ayr Sheriff Court and is to be sentenced next month, Britain's Telegraph reported Saturday.

Stewart was discovered last October by two maids who entered to clean his room during a stay at the Aberley House Hostel in Ayr, Scotland.

The accused was holding the bike and moving his hips back and forth as if to simulate sex, a sheriff's spokesman told the court. The shocked witnesses told the hotel manager who told the police.

Stewart, according to the Telegraph, is not the first person convicted of sex with an inanimate object. In 1993, Kar Watkins, an electrician, was arrested for having sex with pavements in Redditch, England.

Oh yes, I finally had a shopping spree today. Well, we were supposed to go AOH today, but we did not know how to get there, and we did not wanna take cab. Therefore, we headed to Queensway for a shopping spree. She wanna buy her sling bag, I wanna buy my schoolbag and "go-out" bag.

We walked in the rain and laughed all the way till we got a shelter. I laughed because Sweeleng's laughter made me laugh. We were drenched and I bought a SUSU HOT. (That's what the label says.) OMG, I burnt my tongue. EFFING HOT! I puked a little, but I swallowed some. FUCKING hot! Sorry, I have to use this word. OUCH~! Anyway, we could not afford to buy in Queensway, as the bags' prices range from $40+ to $70+.
Took a bus from anchorpoint and headed to Queenstown MRT station.

I "chiong" to gulp in that effing hot milk. Topped up $5, waste my money for shopping. Headed to Bugis street. Bought a puma bag finally for school. Sweeleng also got her sling bag. Hehe... Dined at LJS after that. And shopped for my necklace. Back to Bugis Junction. Decided to buy the myuk bag at JP since I thought there'll be a variety, but I was wrong. We bought the cute shake shake thing from the cart-stall. $10! First thing we saw and went "so cutee". so expensive. but very cute, will response to clapping of hands. HELLO. I LOVE YOU. xD

At JP. the first design I chose to buy, OUT OF STOCK. The second design I chose to buy, LEFT ONLY white colour. Argh! Buyla. I REALLY shopped in JP today. Saw a sling pouch from Double Index, so nic next time e! Its $30 ba. And the converse jacket. $80. I wanna buy! myuk, DI, converse!

SINGAPORE: Day two of the National Kidney Foundation civil trial highlighted how the former CEO paid staff salaries and bonuses based on his own decision and how he travelled overseas luxuriously.

NKF's lawyer K Shanmugam said TT Durai did not consult the executive committee on these matters, so favoured employees received high and unauthorised payouts because there was no proper remuneration policy.

For example, former board member Matilda Chua, was given a six months bonus of about $75,000, on top of the six months she was already getting, even though Durai knew she was about to resign.

NKF lawyer Mr Shanmugam said this was "uncomprehensible", noting that such a payment was very difficult to justify even in a commercial organisation.

In a charitable organisation, like NKF, he said "it cannot be justified, period."

Another example that Durai had absolute control of the charity, with no oversight - he made extensive travels and exorbitant expenses, all approved by himself.

In the courtroom, Mr Shanmugam pointed out that Durai travelled first class and stayed in luxurious hotels, even through he was then the CEO of a charity organisation.

Over a seven and a half year period, Durai charged more than $1m for hotel stays for himself and possibly for other NKF staff like Matilda Chua. Mr Shanmugam said what Durai did on those trips and how it benefited NKF, no one knows.

Mr Shanmugam also pointed out how the old NKF allegedly lost sight of its charitable objective by concentrating on fund-raising activities, instead of patients' welfare.

He said from 2001 to 2003, funds raised grew from about $59m to some $68m, but during the same period, the net amount spent on patients' dialysis and transplantation fell by nearly half from $12m to around $7m. - CNA /dt

Taiwan quake cuts off much of Asia Internet

HONG KONG - Internet and phone services were disrupted across much of Asia on Wednesday after an earthquake damaged undersea cables, leaving one of the world's most tech-savvy regions in a virtual blackout.

From frustrated traders seeking in vain for stock quotes to anxious newshounds accustomed to round-the-clock updates on world events, millions of people from China to Japan to Australia were affected.

The disruption was widespread, hitting China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong and elsewhere, with knock-on effects as far away as Australia for companies whose Internet is routed through affected areas.

There was no chaos on the stock exchanges or any of the other doomsday scenarios, but reports that services could be down for weeks were dramatic enough.

South Korea's information and communication ministry said all six undersea fibreoptic cables off Taiwan were hit, causing major disruption. All services, except for exclusive business lines, returned to normal shortly afterwards as they were switched to other systems.

But officials could not put a timeframe on when business lines would be fixed. "It is not a matter of days," said Hong Seoung-Yong, a ministry official handling the problem. "It will take longer than that to repair the damaged lines."

A 7.1-magnitude earthquake off the coast of Taiwan on Tuesday night, which was followed by several smaller quakes in the region, apparently damaged the vast network of underwater cables that enables modern communication.

"The Internet capacity in Taiwan is about 40 percent now, so the service is jammed," said a spokesman for Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan's largest phone company.

A spokesman for CAT Telecom, Thailand's communication authority, said Internet services had been disrupted across the country.

"Those whose businesses mainly rely on Internet communication have been affected. They can't do anything," he added.

Phone services in some countries were also disrupted, in particular for calls to the United States.

"Several undersea data cables were damaged," said a spokesman for PCCW, Hong Kong's biggest telecoms company.

Service providers quickly tried to redirect customers to the cables that had not been affected but the reduced capacity was no match for the normal workload of users, leaving an Internet service that was painfully slow or non-existent.

"It's a nightmare, basically, because we have no idea what is going on in the markets today," said Steve Rowles, an analyst with CFC Seymour in Hong Kong, who echoed others in saying that damage was limited due to year's end.

"It has happened on the right day as a lot of people are away for holidays, so there's low trading volumes," he said.

In China, web users in cities as far apart as Beijing in the north and Chongqing in the southwest reported difficulties accessing overseas websites, state media reported, after several undersea cables belonging to China Telecom were cut.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange, the world's largest bourse outside of New York, was functioning without problems, a spokesman said.

The Hong Kong stock exchange also said it was also working without problems, but after-hours crude trading in Singapore was affected as traders reported they could not access the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex).

NTT Communications, the long-distance call business of Japan's largest telecom firm Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp., said 1,400 toll-free phone lines and 84 international lines used internally by companies were affected.
